The Shops at Summerlin Centre was supposed to be an outdoor shopping center that was part of a mixed use development in Summerlin Centre, a Summerlin village.[1] The mall will provide about 1,500,000 square feet (140,000 m2)[1] of retail space with a scheduled opening date of October 16, 2009.[2]
The mall was being built by General Growth Properties with development beginning on 400 acres (160 ha)[3] in 2007. The location is along Clark County 215 just south of Red Rock Casino.[4] Because of the current state of the economy, the construction has been halted and delayed since August 2008 and it is unknown when construction will continue. On February 24, 2010, GGP filed for bankruptcy.
